01About & skills

Engineer by training, product-minded by habit.

Full stack, with a bias for the parts users actually touch — and the tests and telemetry that keep them honest.

Who I am

I studied Computer Science at the University of British Columbia with a minor in Psychology. That pairing still shapes how I work: understand the people using the product, then let the data tell you whether it's working.

Over the past few years I've shipped production software for e-commerce, real estate and interactive art. I started at Matter Inc. as a junior developer and was promoted to full stack developer 17 months later.

Security-minded

Outside of product work I'm into offensive security. I hold the OSWP and KLCP certifications from Offensive Security, so I'm usually the one asking “how could this break?” before it ships.

I own the merchant admin portal and dashboard end to end, and I build the systems merchants use to test and sell their offers.

    • Designed and shipped conversion-based reweighting and weighted variant routing for our Bayesian experimentation engine. Simulations confirmed it converges on the best-converting variant.
    • Delivered the experiments system's first production release, with server-side caching, test coverage and an end-to-end test that runs from ad account to checkout to event validation.
    • Built the commerce layer: orders dashboard, order-sync safeguards, order APIs, and refund and partial-refund flows for bundled offers. Also connected merchants' Shopify stores and ad accounts.
    • Built the telemetry pipeline on RudderStack, Google Tag Manager, GA4 and BigQuery. It tracks model usage, cost and failures alongside section views, scroll depth and dwell time.

    Web Developer / IT Executive

    S.S. Trading International · Remote

Built and looked after the web presence of the company and its sister business, Smart IT, as a fully remote developer.

    • Designed, built and maintained the websites and web apps for both businesses.
    • Built responsive, user-friendly interfaces, then kept them fast by debugging and tuning site performance.
    • Owned updates, security and ongoing maintenance, and coordinated releases with the team through online project tools.

    Software Developer / Executive

    RentalHunt

Built features across the stack for an all-in-one rental platform.

    • Built front-end features in Next.js and React and wrote 250+ Jest unit tests, raising code coverage by 30%.
    • Ran back-end work in FastAPI and Python on PostgreSQL, using SQLAlchemy as the ORM and Alembic for migrations.
    • Helped design and build the admin panel, from UML diagrams and sprint planning through to implementation.

    Systems Designer

    Light-Up Kelowna

Engineered the software behind a multi-projector public art installation.

    • Extended a C-based macOS platform so artists could upload their own videos without help.
    • Moved three projectors onto a single Mac and kept them in sync using PJLink and PJTalk.
    • Used OpenGL to play artists' videos seamlessly across all three projector screens.
